Decisions, decisions! It's perfectly normal to have an endless list of questions when it comes to understanding your photographer's packages, style, etc. Below are some frequently asked questions, but if you have any other questions please don't hesitate to ask. I would love to hear from you. Keep in mind that we will discuss everything during our initial consult. Reach out to learn more!
What do your packages cost and include?

You will also have the option to add on an engagement session, albums, and more! Please contact us with your preferred date, venue and a little bit about yourselves and how you envision your wedding day. We believe each wedding is as unique as you are and one simply does not fit all. We customize each wedding quote for our couple. Once we get a good understanding of your needs, we will present you with your special quote and take it from there.
Do you have sample weddings you have photographed?
You bet and I am happy to share more photos and show you the luxurious albums of our couples! If you haven't already, please be sure to browse through some of our portfolio. However, keep in mind that we are unable to release all photos online due to various reasons such as privacy or because the photos are pending publishing in print magazines or online on blogs such as Wedluxe, Style Me Pretty, Grace Ormonde, etc. so we are not able to share photos prior to their release. When we meet for a consult, I will bring along a few album samples along with online links to full wedding photos. It's really important when you hire a photographer that you have seen their work from start to finish of the wedding day for multiple occasions in order to ensure their quality and production meet your standards.
What do you capture on the wedding day?
Depending on the number of hours you book, I will try to fit in as much as possible! The only break I take is to sit for maybe a quick dinner while my other photographer continues shooting. I take great pride in capturing all the details - from the hair & make-up application in the morning to buttoning up your dress, to the first look and ceremony's emotional moments, to the important family photos and various decor and design elements. I also ensure to capture candid moments of guests and special moments so that photos feel natural and genuine,
Do I really need to hire a wedding planner or day-of coordinator?
Wedding planning can be a lot of fun! But wedding coordination on the day of is whole different story. Even if you want to plan your entire wedding - that's no problem with us. But on the wedding day, my one request is that you and your family do not work. As much as this is a celebration for your guests, this should be an equally joyous & relaxed time for you and your family so you can truly enjoy every moment that you've planned. You should not be constantly on your phone, dealing with vendors, completing last minute touches or running around lighting candles or sewing a broken zipper. For the sake of your photos, I ask that you hire at least a professional day-of coordinator (not a friend or guest) who will be able to assist you on your special day from start to finish. This coordinator or planner will take care of your timeline, be there for any emergencies, and handle all of the behind the scenes situations that happens at every wedding (don't worry, it's normal - these things happen - for example, your limo is running late, your linen is un-steamed, your florist doesn't know where to put the centerpieces or how to decorate to satisfy your need, and your false lashes aren't sticking properly...). You have invested in photos to last a lifetime. While I will do my best to execute the most beautiful and capturing photos, I can't photoshop out a stressed face or a busy mind - believe me, all of these will show in photos if you are not calm, cool and collected. You deserve to be well pampered on your wedding day - and hiring at least a coordinator should be part of your planning checklist.
If you need any recommendations for professional planners we trust and love to work with, simply ask! We promise that they'll make your life easier.
Who will photograph our wedding?
Most weddings will have at least one shooter (always me! Samineh) and typically at least one assistant or additional shooter. The number of photographers will depend on the logistics and style of your wedding in order to best meet your needs. On the wedding day, I will focus on the direction of the day and take the lead on portraits and specialty detailed shots while my other experienced shooter(s) will focus on capturing various angles and other key details that are essential to the wedding day.
Do you offer destination wedding photography or travel photography?
Absolutely! While I love shooting in our beautiful city of Vancouver with the stunning scenery, I can't help but dream about the destinations in the world. I have had the pleasure of shooting on the island of Maui before, and am looking forward to weddings in the future in Turkey, Dubai, Thailand, and the South Pacific. If you're interested in tying the knot oversees (or even outside of Vancouver), then let me know. I'd be happy to customize a package to meet you needs by offering special rates.
Do you offer engagement sessions or pre-wedding/after-wedding photography?
Yes and yes! Some couples think they don't need an engagement session because their wedding date is approaching fast or they would rather save the money to put towards their wedding package. But this is something that I prefer to include for all my couples and encourage strongly even if the couple thinks they simply don't need it. The engagement session is the perfect opportunity for us to establish a bond and relationship before your big day. Not only will we get to know each other better, but we will also take the time to understand what style of photos you like once you see your own photos, what is your "better side" for photos (unless you have two good side- in that case, lucky you!), and get comfortable simply being in front of a big camera before the big day. And as for pre-wedding or post-wedding photos, that is possible, too. Just ask us during the consult what you'd like and the number of hours so we can customize a package for your needs.
How soon do you deliver photos?
When you wake up the next day after your dream wedding, you will wake up to an email with a few edited wedding photos. I, myself, have been a bride and I know the excitement and the enthusiasm that goes in your mind to see you wedding photos so our goal is to deliver your photos within 90 days of your wedding date. I will also keep you in the loop as I am editing your beautiful photos and share some sneak peeks along the way if time allows. Rush services are available at an additional fee.
Do you take family photos?
Definitely. This is a non-negotiable and something I will do for all weddings. In fact, I require a complete list of family members that you wish to be photographed with in order to ensure everyone who is "VIP" has a professional photo with the two of you. And don't worry, we will take candid shots throughout the night of the families and guests as well.
Do you take detailed shots?
Of course! You have put so much thought and energy into planning all the details of your wedding. It would be my pleasure to ensure the sentimental and lovely details are captured to the full extent. I adore jewelry details, shoes, and ring shots. There is always a new and unique way to shoot these details to reflect your personality and style.
Do we get full resolution images? What about raw (unprocessed) files?
You will receive full resolution images without any watermarks in a password protected online gallery where you can share download or share photos with family, friends, and guests. You will receive printing rights for all your photos. Raw and unprocessed photos will not be given out as I take great pride in my exceptional post production, which is why your photos will truly be one of a kind.
What kind of cameras do you use?
We shoot with Nikon cameras and lenses. My personal favorite camera is the Nikon D3, Nikon D3s and our newest member of the family Nikon D4s which is exceptional in quality and durability. We have multiple strong Nikon Flash lights as well as extra strength batteries to ensure to capture every perfect moment just in time. Having the right equipment gives us the freedom to achieve the best photo regardless of weather conditions or lighting. We also do Vancouver drone photography on locations that are too pretty to just shoot on the ground.
What's your back up plan if your camera fails?
Fortunately, I have thought this through. My team and I have two or sometimes three of everything we own. We also own very high quality and reliable devices that have the ability to take photos on one memory card and back it up on another memory card at the same time. We understand that with every technology comes its flaws and we are prepared to gracefully resolve any of these issues without you even noticing.
